What is the minimum age to rent a car?+
For Group A (Toyota Aygo) the minimum age is 21 with at least 2 years of driving licence. For all other groups the minimum age is 24 with at least 4 years of driving licence.
What documents do I need to rent?+
You need: valid national ID or passport, valid driving licence (accepted in Spain) and a credit card in the name of the main driver for the deposit hold. Prepaid cards and debit cards are not accepted for the deposit.
What does the rental price include?+
The price includes the vehicle, IGIC at 15% (Canary Islands tax equivalent to VAT), unlimited mileage, 24h roadside assistance and basic third-party liability insurance. No hidden fees.
Is there a deposit and how much is it?+
Yes, a deposit is held via pre-authorisation on a credit card. The amount depends on the vehicle group: €600 (Groups A, B, I), €900 (Groups C, E, G, H) and €1,200 (Groups D, F — Caddy 7-seater and Traffic 9-seater). The deposit is released when the vehicle is returned undamaged.
Can I pick up the car at my hotel?+
Yes. We offer free hotel delivery and collection in 5 zones in southern Gran Canaria: Playa del Inglés, Puerto Rico, Patalavaca, Taurito and Mogán. Just select it when booking.
What insurance options do you offer?+
Every rental includes basic third-party liability insurance (with an excess depending on the vehicle group). You can waive the excess by adding Super CDW (SCDW) for €8/day: zero excess plus cover for tyres, glass and undercarriage.
How much does an additional driver cost?+
An additional driver costs €10 per day. They must be present at pickup with their documents (ID/passport and valid driving licence).
How much do GPS and child seats cost?+
Portable GPS costs €10 per day. Child seats (groups 0+, I, II or III) cost €5 per day. Both extras can be added during the online booking.
What are the office opening hours?+
The Gran Canaria Airport office is open 24/7 with no out-of-hours surcharge. Playa del Inglés (Yumbo) and Patalavaca offices open Monday–Friday 09:00–13:00 and 16:00–19:00, Saturday–Sunday 09:00–13:00. Out-of-hours pickups carry a €30 surcharge.
Can I return the car at a different office?+
Yes. We offer one-way service between our Gran Canaria offices: Airport ↔ Playa del Inglés: €35. Airport ↔ Patalavaca: €45. Playa del Inglés ↔ Patalavaca: €25.
How do I pay for the rental?+
Payment is made by credit card in the name of the main driver. Prepaid and debit cards are not accepted for the deposit. Any balance (if not paid online) can be settled in cash when picking up the vehicle.
Can I pay in cash?+
Only the outstanding rental balance can be paid in cash at pickup. The deposit is always handled via credit card pre-authorisation; cash is not accepted for the deposit.
What happens if I cancel the booking?+
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance or no-shows may be charged.
How far in advance should I book?+
The minimum lead time to book is 24 hours. We recommend booking as early as possible during high season (July–August and Christmas) to secure availability in the desired group.
Does the car come with fuel?+
Yes. Vehicles are delivered with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank (full-to-full policy). If returned with less fuel, the refuelling cost plus a service fee will be charged.
